• Remove Back Panel

First you will remove back panel to remove screws off backpanel you need p5 screw driver.

• Remove Logic Board and disconnect cables and battery terminal

Once back panel is removed first disconnect the battery terminal to avoid any short on the board. To remove screws from logic board you will need T6 screw driver.

• Remove speakers

Speakers on macbook air are not screwed with the body. they are attached with double sided adhesive which you can remove just by pulling up gently.

• Remove backlight film and keyboard

The black paper you see in the above picture is backlight mechanistic on the keybooard. This works independently and the cable of the backlight is attached to logic board separately. We recommend to apple little bit of heat to the corners of black sheet which is glued with panel and remove backlight gently.

Now you will find very small philips screws on the four sides of keyboard. Macbook air has 40 screws take your time and remove all the screws. Rest of the keyboard has flat head rivet screws. You have to be gentle to remove these rivet screws. May be take a philips screw driver and press gently and they will come out.

once all the rivets are taken out start pulling keyboard from one side. You might find some of the rivets are still holding the keyboard. Remove gently and finally macbook air keyboard will come out

Rest of the procedure is reverse of what we have done above. Put new keyboard put all the screw back on the keyboard. Put logicboard, speakers, battery back and you all done.
